Molly Jo Rose is a wife, mother, writer, and professor living in the Midwest who is interested in what it means to be a modern Catholic. John 17:14–19 is where we get the directive to live in the world and not of it, but arguably that phrase has given us license to be isolationist in our faith practice. If we truly want to be universal in our Catholicism, we have to embrace the world and search for God in its darkest corners. God made the world and saw it was good. This blog argues that maybe we should, too.
Dorothy Day, in all her prickly, unpleasant, and saintly ways, is Molly’s hero.
