The last barbs are being traded among Catholics this weekend as Obama's commencement address approaches, with Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good buying a full-page ad in the South Bend Tribune with a statement in support of Obama's presence signed by a couple dozen theology types from Catholic universities mostly. The statement puts the visit in historical perspective–though I don't quite get the KKK analogy; its a bit of a stretch. The example of the Reagan and Bush speeches suffices.
I for one will be glad when it's over. I'm officially sick of it.
