Social media has been getting a lot of criticism lately. From the revelations about social media platforms’ addictive design in Netflix’s The Social Dilemma to controversies surrounding fake news during the COVID-19 pandemic, the conversation around social media has turned sour.
At the same time, it seems that social media has never been more essential. With much of the country still maintaining social distance due to the pandemic, platforms such as Facebook and Twitter have become some of the only connections many have to their friends, family, and faith. How do we reconcile these two sides of the social media debate?
