“You’re fired,” says Pope Francis to everybody

Or at least, everybody on the Vatican's Financial Information Authority (AIF), founded by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010 to bring the Vatican into compliance with international standards to prevent money laundering. 

Until yesterday, the AIF consisted entirely of Italians. The new panel, announced today, includes members from four different countries, and from various background, including Juan C. Zarate, a visiting lecturer at Harvard Law School and a senior advisor to the university’s Center for Strategic and International Studies.
