Forget Biblical literalism, a conservative group is editing the Bible to match their values and is using a Wiki to do so.
The Conservative Bible Project is part of Conservapedia–a wikipedia for conservatives. Therefore anybody can contribute their proposed edits, being made to the King James Version of the Bible. I couldn't find many edits being made yet, but you can see their guidelines here.
This is a strange combination of using a technology that equalizes everyone's voices to create an intolerant translation of the Bible.
I just hope they keep this in mind from Augustine (via Karen Armstrong's recently released The Case for God): "The exegete must not leave a text until he could make it 'establish the reign of charity.'"
As the Crunchy Con Rod Dherer says at beliefnet.com, "the insane hubris of this really staggers the mind."
