In 2021, the church began its preparatory proceedings for the Synod of Bishops 2021-2023 “For a synodal church: communion, participation, and mission,” often referred to as the “synod on synodality,” which aims to open a dialogue with the entire church and create a new vision of a renewed, missionary church.
However, as the synodal process gets underway, many wonder if church leaders are doing all they can to include the voices of those who are commonly excluded from the church’s decision-making process, and others remain confused about the goals of the synod and how they might participate in it. How can the church work to better incorporate their voices and visions into the synodal process?
